Psychological/ Psychiatric Testing for Veterans
Community Wellness Center has been working with Veterans since the clinic opening July, 1995. Veterans are the reason we continue to have Freedom. Community Wellness Center offers programs for Veterans who are experiencing complications with life during tour of duty and after. Psychiatric and/or psychological testing and evaluation from the private sector gives the Veterans Administration the opportunity to review information from an unbiased resource concerning possible disability of the individual that may have been acquired during his/her military experience. CWC Programs Offers Veterans Evaluations and Psychological Testing. These testing materials are helpful to determine future treatment that may be helpful. The testing is not timed and there is not a grade to worry about. Psychological Testing may consist of one or both of the following testing items:
- Trauma Symptom Inventory
- Mississippi Scale for Combat Related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a disorder of uncontrollable anxiety. PTSD is caused by a traumatic or dangerous event seen or experienced. While overseas veterans witness and experience the horrors of the war. These traumatic instances cause for extreme cases of anxiety. The human body has the initial "fight or flight" instinct when experiencing something dangerous or traumatic. Those with PTSD have a damaged or changed instinct making everyday occurrences very difficult. Symptoms of PTSD may include:
- Flash-Backs
-Reliving the trauma or events over again - Avoidance
-Staying away from places, emotionally numb - Hyper arousal
-Easily startled, tense, trouble sleeping
